Phishing is a type of scam used by cybercriminals to trick unsuspecting individuals into revealing sensitive information like passwords, credit card numbers, or personal details. As fishermen set a wide net in the hopes of catching as many fish in the net as they can, cyber criminals use the internet (or the net) to send out mass emails in the hopes that at least some of the people who receive them will fall for their lies.
